Simon Field: Deep evolved color, a nose of old leather and gunpowder, figs and hints of treacle; complex and rich. Palate high-toned, mature, and confident; layers of richness, everything harmonious and unfeasibly rich. Sweetness and acidity in counterpoint: a splendid example! 17

Richard Mayson: Deep amber; rich, rather soupy, leafy (recognizably Verdelho) aromas, open and fragrant. Quite rich and sweet in style; more than a hint of caramel toffee, but richness just about offset by pronounced acidity. Finish long, but bittersweet and slightly coarse. 15

Margaret Rand: Nose smoky and quite complex, good depth, and a long finish. It’s not exceptional but it is complete and satisfying. 15.5
