BUY THE WINE

Tim Atkin: Very deep color, almost opaque. Massively fruity nose, kirsch and blackberries, some oak. Firm tannins, dense and concentrated, powerful, rich, and chewy. Rather showy wine without much in the way of subtlety. Rioja? Modern. 13

Jesús Barquín: Deep cherry with a saturated rim. Balanced, still in the making, but with good fruit definition, good acidity and structure. The oak is still evident, but a promising future lies ahead. Long. Intermediate. 16

Marcel Orford-Williams: Quite rich, full. Very ripe. Concentrated and long. Good, not great, but perfectly enjoyable. Finishes short. Old-style. 14
