Bruno Besa: Garnet to pink. Clean and mineral on the nose, with almonds and hazelnuts, cranberries and sour cherries, chalk and road tar. Full-bodied, balanced with sweet black and red fruits and crushed stones, with a very long, clean, super-refined finish. Another one for the cellar. 96
Andrew Jefford: Clear, deep-hued scarlet red. Articulate and aromatic, with a dry edge, but attractive and expansive nonetheless. Deep, vivid, concentrated, and driving, this is a commanding and authoritative Barolo of rather severe but convincing style. Huge drive and depth here. 91
Michael Palij: Pronounced, ripe, obvious, fat nose, which comprises baking spice (clove, vanilla, cinnamon), black fruit including cherry, plum, and damson, herbal notes of hay, thyme, and bay, and a palate that shows an understated elegance albeit allied to far too much new oak. On the finish this is drying and ungainly, with the tannins quick to take over. 88
