Bruno Besa: Garnet to tawny. Open, farmyard nose, with sour cherries, crushed stones, and dried herbs. Medium body, balanced tannins, a red-apple-skin palate, with a fairly long, slightly lean finish. 91
Andrew Jefford: Clear and translucent. This is somewhat reductive, lacking the fresh articulacy of the best of its peers. There is some herbaceousness, too. That pinched, constrained, grassy-tarry note persists on the palate, alas. Viticultural issues... 79
Michael Palij: Very obvious nose, with baked black fruit and jammy notes already in evidence. There are also notes of earth, truffle, blackberry, and damson. Vigorous tannins shape the palate on this wine, with plenty of jammy fruit, but it lacks the delicacy and subtlety that Barolo needs to really shine. 92
