Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve | Terrifically impressive at birth and above everything we have tasted on the Right Bank, which is not surprising. Admirable aroma of ideally picked and vinified grapes; perfect texture; tannic support shows great class. | 19.5

Michael Schuster | A fruit vitality marked by a light new-oak presence, and a clear minerality; beautifully balanced Ausone, dominated by its fruit—plenty of it—a delicious freshness, and a particularly refined and delicate tannin; a noticeable mouth-coating tenacity of flavor and complexity (for the year) and a wonderful fruit-fresh persistence. Has all the early, flatteringly juicy and appetizing qualities of the best of this year. Long, sweet, toothsome, joyous. What pleasure in a few years. 2020–32. | 18
