Nicolas Belfrage: Mid-depth, partly opaque. Scented nose. Quite a mouthful but not entirely elegant, concentrated but slightly off focus. A potentially well-made wine looking for its soul. Drink 2016+. 15.5
Andrew Jefford: Deep red-black core to clear garnet rim. Dusty plums on the nose, with a farmy whiff or two, too. Warming and exuberant, if a little unpolished. A little skinny, by contrast, on the palate; the fruit is suddenly early-season redcurrant or crunchy Veronese cherry rather than plum, held in place by soft tannins but with even less mid-palate richness evident than usual. The tannins are lovely, as always, but I’d like a little more flesh clinging to them. On the plus side, this is a brisk, fresh, light wine that you wouldn’t have to wait for, and it has ample classicism in its structure. 13
Franco Ziliani: Medium ruby color. Very ripe and fleshy fruit, black cherries, plum, raspberries, with a good elegance and some floral notes. Very rich, ripe, and fleshy on the palate as well, with good intensity and harmony. The tannins are just a little bitter on the finish. At the moment this is very young, and it needs some years in cellar. Good but not special. 16
