Andrew Jefford | Dark black-red with some purple, still just opaque. Sweet, pure, fresh, and fragrant: moist vanilla pod, bright cherry, sticky bramble. Super-attractive scents from another of the Pomerol elect. Grows almost perfumed in the glass: dried peels, fragrant gasses. Highly allusive and beautifully so. Poised and fresh yet weighty and fleshy in the mouth, and with the same extreme aromatic finesse that was apparent on the nose. Fine ripeness here and deftly extracted tannins, combining to give the wine such texture that the pronounced acidity might almost go uncommented on, but it is from here that the wine’s energy comes for all that. As much crème de cassis as cherry and bramble on the palate. Grand subtleties here, thanks not just to the fruit but to inspired vinification. | 94
Michael Schuster | Discreetly fresh, fragrant, and minerally to smell; fairly full, noticeably bright in acidity, finely dry in tannin; freshly sweet, slightly unyielding in flavor for the moment, but savory and subtle, needing time to yield and please, but with excellent, perfumed aromatic length. Its fragrance, finesse, and aromatic class from its high proportion of Cabernet Franc. Very nice indeed. 2027–37+. | 92
