Essi Avellan | Deep copper-toned onion-skin color. Intense, boldly fruity nose, with cherries and oriental spices. Full-on, rich palate. So much concentration here. Some phenolics, too. Shows evolution while still holding back a lot. Very correct, yet full of character. | 95
Simon Field | Seductive amber rosehip color and an exuberant mousse. Then a nose of fireworks, rosehip syrup, and crushed strawberry. An indulgent style, vinous and maybe lacking a little tension. The palate is dominated by dried fruit and soft spice. Structurally it is a little austere on the finish but impressive nonetheless. | 91
Anthony Rose | A deep bronze-pink in color, this is distinctly Pinot city in aroma, with a shed-load of berry-fruit fragrance. There are plenty of juicy strawberries and cream fruit in the flavors, too, which are readily, accessibly juicy, and tangy, albeit tapering to a grippy, phenolic finish that cries out for a sweetly fleshed shellfish. Prawns would do nicely; lobster even better. | 94
