Simon Field | Deep episcopal purple. A classic nose of gum cistus, crushed rock, pepper and raspberries, lovely terroir-driven character, hint of seaweed, briary and rock salt. A very pretty but resourceful wine: violets, summer flowers, and hints of wild strawberry. The palate is equally attractive yet has the intensity and depth of flavor that will echo down the years with great dignity. | 94
Andrew Jefford | Dense, dark black-red with a red-purple rim. Developed fruits: warm, rounded, exuberant, amply ripe and brandied. Relatively smooth and open on the palate already, without any of the sublime clench of young Vintage Port that is built for the long haul. On the plus side, this is pure and fine-fruited, with toothsome plum and damson: almost creamily delicious, and very rewarding in the short to mid-term. | 88
Richard Mayson | Open with minty ripeness and with a leafy green edge on the nose. Fresh, vibrant but a bit loose-knit on the palate, firm, spicy tannins rising to reveal fresh well-defined berry fruit on the finish. Mid-weight. | 89
