BUY THE WINE

Tim Atkin | Very ripe, fig-like, and dense, with a hint of oxygenation. Low-intervention style? Amphora? Thyme and rosemary aromas give this a wild-herb perfume, with structured tannins and damson fruit flavors for support. Unusual. | 92

Simon Field | Rich ruby, then a generous nose of plum, blueberry, and vanillin; immediately appealing. The palate is creamy, rich, and poised, herbs vying for attention with the blue fruit and tight, composed tannins regimental in support. Youthful vigor, bright acidity, and a harmonious mid-palate in particular. Lingers long in the memory! | 91

Andrew Jefford | Dark, deep black-red, just off opaque but plenty of purple remains. Fruit dominates the aromas, though the oak is there to give the fruit an incense-like aura. Sweet, squishy blackberries provide the fruit key. In the mouth, this is a much more acidic (and in general a lighter) wine than the aromas led me to expect—indeed, it is almost sour-fruited, sour cherry more than bramble. Attractive, lively, and pure. Is it high-altitude in some way? Good stuff, anyway, if unusual. | 88
