BUY THE WINE

Andrew Jefford | Bright, pale lemony gold. Fresh, clean, pungent, and bright: green apple and yellow lemon in primary colors. Bracing and good. Depth and drive: masterful. This is big, taut, primary, and splashy, with lots of concentration and pungent exuberance. We do have more complex wines than this, but it is great fun and lovely drinking and food friendly. It’s all built around the reactor core of acidity, but it glows, it glows. | 90

Stephan Reinhardt | Intense in its white gold, this is a coolish, clear, refreshingly mineral, crunchy, and flinty scented Riesling, with delicate but fully ripe yellow fruit and lemon aromas. Full-bodied but a bit austere on the protestant palate, which reveals a bone-dry and structured Riesling that lacks a bit of hedonism or at least a generous, juicy fruit that makes me go back for a bigger sip. The wine is finely astringent on the long, salty, and very promising finish, but it should be cellared to gain even more complexity and finesse. 2025–40. | 93+

Anthony Rose | A pale lemony greeny hue, and a suggestion of cardamom spice and stone fruit assails the nostrils and then a light spritz brings a degree of freshness to the taste of this wine, whose citrus- peel fruitiness is bolstered by an underlying salty streak, perhaps betraying its mineral origins. And in finishing mouthwateringly dry, it sets itself up as a digestion-friendly match for seafood. | 95
