Bruno Besa | Garnet to pink. A touch closed; muscular and intense black-fruit nose, with prunes, black cherries, and animal undertones. Full-bodied, rich, muscular yet balanced palate, with refined tannins and a long, clean, finish. This is one for the cellar. | 92
Andrew Jefford | Dark black-red. Sweet, warm, and refined: a lovely mesh of black fruits and red fruits, and just beginning to move into its secondary complexity phase. Admirable depth here, too, and some earthy support: classical, satisfying, and singing. This is very poised, balanced, and refined on the palate, with delicious concentration and gathered inner energy. Gorgeous tannins and vivid, fruit-saturated acidity make for a shapely, bright, clean mouthful, where it’s the ripeness of the fruit that clings to the palate and provides the finishing roar. Stylistically a bull’s-eye, and a delicious wine that will ripen and unfold in the cellar very well. | 92
Anthony Rose | Good, dense, youthful color; plenty of spicy vanillin oak on the nose, in an international, crowd-pleasing style; fine richness of dark-cherry fruit, combining fine tannins and freshness in a framework where everything is in good balance; a very smart wine with not a hair out of place. | 94
