Bruno Besa | Ruby to garnet. Restrained, complex, intense, mineral nose, with layered red fruit and an intense, spicy character. Medium- to full-bodied, great balance, with layered tannins, pristine red fruit, and a long, mineral finish. A great Sangiovese for mid- to long-term aging. | 92
Andrew Jefford | Clear, dark black-red. Dark, vivid, and alluring scents of beautifully ripened Sangiovese fruits: teased plums with a subtle richness, wealth, flesh, and depth. Woodland undergrowth and dried-mushroom savory notes add to the appeal. Wonderful aromatic classicism here. On the palate, this is very fresh and lifted, aerial yet with ample dimensions, too, with much of the aromatic complexity noted on the nose. Sustained and energetic: a very serious contender. This needs a little time to settle and resolve, in fact—it’s almost too concentrated just now. | 92
Anthony Rose | Good, youthfully vigorous dark ruby hue; still elemental on the nose, yet to unwind, although with promising, sweetly ripe-cherry fruit on the palate; nicely evolved tannins and a good, sinewy textural quality, sub- threshold oak enhancing the fruit quality, which is very good. | 91
