Bruno Besa | Garnet to pink. A touch closed, but clear red and black fruit, youthful, with red cherries, black tea, and hints of smoke and tar. Medium to full body, with prominent yet refined tannins. Long and youthful finish. Needs more time. | 93
Andrew Jefford | Clear dark black-red. Earthy red fruits (raspberry and currants) in an ample, bright, lifted and vigorous style. A little cut-meadow hay adds to the aromatic intrigue. Singing, fresh, and aerial. Lively, fresh, and vivid on the palate, glowing with teased ripeness; the tannins are soft, supportive, and present, and the acidity is a little less insistent in this wine than in some of its peers. Wholesome, sound, and hugely enjoyable Barolo, which would merit a higher score if it had just a little more aromatic finesse. | 89
Michael Palij | Rich, ripe, complex nose showing clove, woodsmoke, prune, sultana, black cherry, and mint. The wine has a broad spectrum of fruit on the palate, together with oak-derived tannins that dominate the finish. The oak seems to have got the better of the fruit and the final impression is one of oak. | 87
