BUY THE WINE

Nicolas Belfrage | Straight yellow. Scented aromatics, lady’s perfume, voluptuous. Nose makes you curious as to what is going to follow. Extraordinary richness on the palate, with lovely acid-fruit balance. Technically dry but almost sweet on the finish. Drink on its own; savor well. | 95

Bruno Besa | Bright straw. Intense, fully opened, with yellow fruits, bergamot, hazelnuts, and complex minerality. Lively, intense, layered palate, with intense citrus-fruit character and a long, lemon- peel finish. | 92

Andrew Jefford | Full, bright steel-gold. Some thiols and oniony-ness here, as if it was a Sauvignon Blanc that had turned up for the wrong tasting. Free sulfur, too. A little orchard fruit beneath, but you have to go looking. Less ripe than some others? Rather a rough-and-ready wine, with too much sulfur, which I would not enjoy drinking. It is very old now, and I’m not sure why it was thought a good submission; the game has surely moved on from here. | 75
