Stephen Brook | The stone-fruited nose is very restrained, and it’s unusually shy for Filhot. But there’s a delightful sheen to the texture and ample acidity, even though this was very late picked, even for 2015. The citric tone gives great intensity and purity of fruit. It’s not very nuanced at present, but it’s certainly structured and should age well. This shines more than most Filhots, with greater poise and distinction than usual. Has polish and finesse, too. | 90
Andrew Jefford | Bright pale gold. Sweet, lush, and warm, even faintly nutty already, over a honeyed, custard-cream base: very appealing, and a hugely promising Filhot. Lushly sweet on the palate, but there is also attractively vivid acidity and complexing notes of caramel, toasted nuts, buttered apricot, and tarte tatin. This is a terrific Filhot that doubtless offers outstanding value. | 91
