BUY THE WINE

Bruno Besa | Garnet to pink. A touch closed, black- and red-fruits nose, with prunes, red cherries, crushed stones, rosemary and hints of spices. Medium body, a touch green on the palate, yet a clean and fairly complex finish. | 90

Andrew Jefford | Deep, though now clear black-red. Softly expressed, well-rounded red-fruit scents, elegant and refined, clean and fresh, sappy. Deep, structured, and resonant, with ample depths and a pure and resonant aromatic profile, this is certainly a success for the vintage, though the fruit bears the vintage hallmark of tightness, bitterness, and austerity, and I wouldn’t keep it for too long. | 90

Michael Palij | Dramatic nose with blackberry, sandalwood, cedar, graphite, leather, and tar. Fully mature now, with complex, tertiary notes, this wine has finely grained tannins and a long finish with rose, pomegranate, and floral notes. The oak is well integrated, and structurally the wine is in balance, though it needs drinking in the medium term. A very pretty expression of Brunello. | 92
