Bruno Besa | Deep ruby to pink. Clean and mature, floral and complex, with cherries, raspberries, prunes, cedarwood, and complex Mediterranean herb undertones. Medium- to full-bodied, a touch hot on the palate, yet clean and long. | 91
Andrew Jefford | Dark black-red, though opaque. Warm, meaty, earthy aromas; quite livid, lively, richly textured fruits here; orange and tangerine, too. An exciting aromatic profile. Lots of boisterous, almost juicy fruits on the palate, with plenty of orange and thyme, as well as plum, and amply tannin-supported. Vivid, exuberant, yet fine-sewn, with lots in here to enjoy and some outstanding fruit qualities. Perhaps the slightly rough-and-ready quality of the tannins just takes it out of top contention, but no one will be disappointed with this wine. | 91
Anthony Rose | Deep, dense, dark ruby in color; the nose is a tad shy and retiring. The fruit on the palate is quite rich and sweet, but more than that, it’s kept in check by a raspingly traditional sinewy structure of tannin and acidity that’s not for the faint-hearted. Definitely needs food—robust food at that—and then it will come into its own, because the fruit is bright and muscular. A macho punch, albeit one that some might find a tad below the belt. | 92
