Stephen Brook | Sweet cherry and blackberry aromas dominate the nose, which is packed with fruit. Sleek and polished on the palate, this shows fine concentration without excessive extraction. Fresh acidity cleanses the palate and keeps it spry. It’s a touch understated but none the worse for that, and it should fill out with more time. Ripe tannins emerge on the finish, which is quite long. | 93
Andrew Jefford | Dark, promising black-red. Sweet spice and cherry fruit: lots of uncomplicated appeal here. Sweet, soft, lots more black cherry; gentle tannins and understated acidity. Not one of the more highly polished wines in the tasting, but there is lots to enjoy and admirable purity, too. And it is close-knit, too, and will take mid-term cellaring well. | 86
Michael Palij | Full-throttle nose, with ripe fruit and lashings of oak including vanilla, coffee, Bovril, and yeast extract. Black fruit includes blackberries, blackcurrant, black plum, and black cherry. The length is good, and the weight of fruit does an excellent job balancing the tannins and creating freshness on the finish, including some notes of mint and red fruit. In time this wine may resolve the tannins and develop into something bigger; for now it is fresh and appealing in a youthful style. | 93
