Bruno Besa | Garnet to tawny. Clean, restrained, elegant, small red-fruits nose, with a complex floral character of dried roses and violets and hints of leather and crushed stones. Medium body, firm tannins well supported by the sweet small red-fruit palate. Long and inviting, with a firm, austere finish. A very good effort for medium- term aging. | 92
Andrew Jefford | Clear, light black-red. Red fruits and warm embers; a hint of smoke. Complex and teasing, and no sense of “lesser vintage” restraint here. Sweet, sound, resonant ripeness. On the palate, too, this has better ripeness than most in this vintage, and the wine is crafted in a rounded, open-pored, and accessible style, which makes for very satisfying drinking. The fruit characters are now well evolved and there is plenty of tobacco-leaf complexity. Not a long-term keeper, though. | 90
Michael Palij | A classic nose, showing red fruit including cherry, raspberry, and black-fruit notes of cooked plum, all in a pleasing oak wrap of sweet spice and cedar. The palate is slightly less impressive, withatough, unyielding vein of tannins running through the finish and leading to rather uninspired length. | 86
