Nicolas Belfrage: Definite oranging on the rim. A clean if somewhat uneventful nose. Pleasant if not particularly powerful fruit on the palate, with an attractive sweet-and-sour finish, together with ripe tannins. You can drink it happily now, but it will last. 90
Bruno Besa: Garnet to tawny. A little closed on the nose yet refined, restrained, and complex, with small red fruit, iron, and red soil, tobacco leaf, dried herbs, and crushed stones. Super-intense palate, layered, firm, positively decadent, with a long, mineral finish. Classic super-spicy Tuscan wine to enjoy for many years to come. 96
Andrew Jefford: Clear, limpid black-red. Sweet fruits, but a sense of dry constraint to the nose, too, as if the élevage was weighing just a little bit heavily on the raw materials. Chopped holly among the red fruits. Vivid and juicy, exuberant, lively, generously constituted; slightly rough-and-ready in style, but there’s a lot to enjoy here. Amply grippy to finish. 87
