BUY THE WINE

Bruno Besa | Garnet to pink. Clean, restrained, complex, elegant small red-fruits and earthy nose, with tobacco leaf, leather, dried roses, and cinnamon. Medium body, with a lively red-orange and raspberry palate. Long and refined. A classic Sangiovese with evident pedigree. | 93

Andrew Jefford | Clear deep black-red. Warm, almost tarry scents, though some herbaceous freshening behind, too; even a hint of resin. Concentrated, relatively acidic and cool in style, but gathered and focused. The herbaceous notes I find a little disappointing, but it is classy, drinkable wine for all that. | 87

Michael Palij | This vintage produced many wines such as this that show compromised physiological maturity and a lean, vegetal streak. The palate shows better concentration and balance, with well-managed tannins and some length, but overall the impression is of thrift rather than of generosity. | 84
