Nicolas Belfrage: Relatively light, bright. Attractive herby/ minty nose with lanolin notes. A little low-key but fine. Bright sour-cherry fruit predominates on the palate; tannins in place, good length, can improve. Drink from 2016. 15.5
Bruno Besa: Garnet to tawny rim. Open, spicy, touchvegetal nose, yet appealing and elegant, with layered small red fruits. Medium to full body, with lush, sweet red fruit and elegant long finish. Another classy, restrained Sangiovese with considerable elegance. 17.5
Andrew Jefford: Quite pale, viewed against some of its peers. Settled, sorted fresh fruits; milky plum. Cleanlimbed, fresh, sweet-edged, and lively. Not a wine of great ambition, I’d say, but the winningly ripe vintage has been captured perfectly. It’s a carp, but there is a small aromatic false note on the palate and nose, though this would not be apparent on casual drinking. 14
