Michael Edwards: Rich and unctuous. I’d like a little more freshness and energy. | 89
Simon Field: A touch of reduction on the nose; lanolin and fruit salad, hard to like at first, but mistrust is soon dissipated. Patience is rewarded, as purer and more expressive fruit wins through, with a honeyed backdrop and finely layered palate; plum, grapefruit, and subtly nutty notes all playing a part. | 89
Anne Krebiechl: Deep golden color. A rather unusual nose unites flinty reduction with creamy, pliable, floral creaminess. The palate expresses this reduction with salty, savory intensity. The freshness on the palate is vivid, moreish, and pervasive, while the flinty hints tinge and perfume everything. Yet the creamy richness underlying it all brings hints of barley sugar, oatmeal, and buttery shortcrust. The tension between both poles provides fitting drama and, more importantly, moreish and invigorating freshness with a beguilingly salty finish. | 95
