Nicolas Belfrage | Quite deep, though far from opaque. Fresh- picked black-berry fruit on the nose. Announces its forceful personality on the attack. Rich, ripe, and opulent, dark cherry and spice. Firm tannin structure, almost chewy, tight fruit flavors, some tobacco, some blueberry. Long. Will last well, ideally drink from 2022. | 96

Bruno Besa | Deep garnet to pink. Clean, intense, ripe, mineral nose, with black cherries, toasted nuts, aromatic herbs, and cedar wood. Mature, full-bodied palate, with meaty character and big yet fine tannins. Long and clean, smoked finish. A full-throttle Sangiovese grosso, with a long life ahead. | 93

Andrew Jefford | Deep, clear black-red in color. Dry, light, fresh, brisk aromas, withatouch of box bush and dry tea leaf; redcurrant fruit behind. Light and fresh in style, but with generous tannins, which themselves are just a little dry. I relish the step up in structure with this wine, which means it will work well at table, but the fruit has only just tiptoed into ripeness, and some may find it a touch austere. | 86
