Nicolas Belfrage: Fairly deep. Perfumed nose, which invites the taster in. Creamy tannins of considerable concentration, bags of ripe sweet fruit on the finish, with only the merest hint of bitterness, this is a wine of class that combines typicity with drinkability to a rare degree. Good length. Drink from 2018. 92
Stephen Brook: Very deep red. Rich exuberant nose, quite oaky, black as well as red fruits. Broad and lush, concentrated of course, with firm tannins that give a lot of grip and clench the mid-palate. Not harmonious, but the components seem in place, with very ripe fruit and good structure. There’s energy and drive here, and while not shy or austere, it’s not too sweet or flashy either. Admirable length. 90
Andrew Jefford: Deep, dark black-red. Some sweetness of wood still evident, but a fine slumber of fruit beneath, and it will wake when it’s ready. Wow: very impressive density and depth apparent on the palate, and the fruit qualities are absolutely impeccable, as has been the cellar handling. It’s at the beginning of its life, but there are many years ahead, and I sense that this bottle will never be anything less than dependable and will generally prove inspiring, too. Fine, pure, pristine, dense, textured, commanding, and long. 92
