BUY THE WINE

Nicolas Belfrage | Attractive mid-depth hue, with some turn. A delicious mouthful of ripe cherry and red- berry fruit. Tannins are very smooth, and acid is middling sharp, making it easy to drink without sacrificing complexity. Excellent drinking now but will also last well. | 94

Bruno Besa | Dark garnet to tawny. Quite volatile on the nose, with tobacco, small red fruits, and oriental spices. Medium-bodied and high-toned on the palate. | 84

Andrew Jefford | Clear, deep red-black. Warm, complex, and secondary, though relatively shy: fruit, forest, and the ending season. Concentrated and structured on the palate, though the fruit is cool, edgy, and fretful—in general a little less warm than the aromas suggested. But there is lots of wine here, and the work in the vineyard has paid dividends. | 89
