Bruno Besa | Brilliant garnet to pink rim. Slightly closed, restrained, elegant, complex, ripe black- and red-fruit nose, with prunes, raspberries, raw meat, cedarwood, forest undergrowth, cinnamon, and cloves. Full-bodied, perfectly ripe red- and black- fruit palate, layered tannins, sweet, with a long, lively finish. Great Sangiovese. | 95
Andrew Jefford | Clear, deep black-red. Sweet and lively, pure: fresh and lifted. Very clean and pristine aromas of great seductiveness, though there is less fruited warmth and drive in them than in most of this wine’s peers. Flowers and sweet spice the top notes here. Ample on the palate, with soft but voluminous ripe red fruits leant complexity by the fresh and wild-flower notes. Firm, cleansingly bitter-edged tannins and an almost lavender-like acidity bring balance. Intricate and detailed wine. | 91
Anthony Rose | Medium-ruby. A high-toned candied note on the nose initially, in a quite traditional style; showing more structure than fruit, thanks to an almost tough approach to the tannins, which are pretty chewy; but no doubting the authenticity of style. | 90
