Bruno Besa | Garnet to pink. A little closed, red stone-fruit nose, quite herbal and super-tight floral character of violets and rose petals. Intense, with big, layered tannins, long and clean, with complex, super-layered, defined red fruits, chalk finish. Very young and needs lots of time. But there is great aging potential here. | 96
Stephen Brook | Delicately perfumed nose, raspberries and fraises du bois. In contrast, the palate is chunky, with hefty tannins that already show some dryness. A more austere style, which is fine, but at present it lacks fruit and vigor and may not unfurl to express them. Moderate length, with a surly finish. | 84
Andrew Jefford | Clear, limpid deep red. Very fine aromatic profile (this is bottle 2): layered and nuanced, delicate and subtle: fine leather, cream, resonant red fruits, licorice and other root spices, glowing and warm. Very elegant and refined on the palate, with intense, searching acidity, finely milled tannins, and concentrated, perfumed fruit. It finishes with the root spice, which was evident on the nose. Exemplary, and very Verduno—that elegance of the site near the river. | 93
