BUY THE WINE

Stephen Brook: Muted nose of apricot and white peach. Rich, sleek, compact, fine underlying acidity; indeed, the acidity becomes assertive as the wine stays on the palate. This is quite aggressive but has sufficient fruit to carry it off. Give it a year to harmonise. Good length, withatangy, minerally finish. 17

Jancis Robinson: Tangy aromas reminiscent of gum (the sticky stuff). Rather exotic lily scents and great balance, with masses of fruit and extract on the palate. Already a good drink, but no sign that it has evolved dangerously fast. Bravo! 15.5

Alexander Scott: Piercing aromas with perhaps a grapefruit twist. There's a feel of considerable class here. Keeps one coming back. The palate is athletic but incredibly harmonious, penetrating but also subtle and discreetly aristocratic. Lingering. This must be a top site - I'd guess steep and stony, interpreted by a grower who knows what he's doing. 18
