Simon Field: Almost glowing of colour, and with generous expressive notes on the nose, this is a wine that, on the palate, has real depth of flavour, a tightly knit tannic backdrop and a wealth of fruit that is almost exotic in its ripeness and intensity. Quo vadis? 16.5
Richard Mayson: Giving away very little on the nose, possibly a bit hollow. Big and fleshy initially in the mouth, with powerful, ripe tannins to back up the fruit, but falls away on the finish. 14
Jancis Robinson: Brownish crimson. Very simple fruit, though there is a top note of violets there. Treacle - this is syrup rather than a liquid! But acidity is more noticeable than tannin. A bit scrawny. One wine I feel I may have misjudged. 13
