Gerard Basset: Medium yellow. Ripe fruit character, hint of quince and spices. Fairly rich texture, great retro-olfaction, long finish. 15

Marcel Orford-Williams: Closed, unexpressive. Some fat but not much middle. Sweetish and hollow. Finishes dry. Sulphury. 12

Roy Richards: More obviously yellow-gold, as is the Rotleibel de Rorschwihr, more strident bouquet, agrume, suggestion of SO2; rich, even sweetish palate, perhaps some botrytis. Good length. 14
