Stephen Brook: Muted nose, with tropical fruit and mandarins and peaches. Distinctly sweet, probably with around 20g of residual sugar per liter. The fruit quality is attractive, and the texture creamy, but it’s too sweet to drink with food and a bit too heavy for an apéritif wine. It’s lush and appealing and has surprising persistence of flavor, thus is a good and well-made wine, but what on earth does one do with it? 16
Alison Buchanan: Golden in color, this is very sweet and opulent, with clear varietal definition on the nose. The palate is succulent and expansive and almost holds focus—a cheese wine, with enough acidity. Very rich and very long; silk-textured 15
Anthony Rose: With its slight vegetal spicy aromatic character, fresh spritz, and medium-sweet stone-fruit-and-almond character, this is Alsace Muscat as you know it but don’t necessarily love it. Yes, it has some Muscat character, but is it rich and off-dry? 14.5
