Michel Bettane and Thierry Desseauve: Very generous, but retaining a whiff of fermentation aromas, hence the smooth, subjectively very sugary finish. Long, but with an aftertaste of firm tannins. Neither very well blended nor very developed at this stage. 16

Margaret Rand: Closed and pretty tannic at the moment, but the fruit seems plentiful and decently ripe, and the balance is good. 16

Michael Schuster: A nose of ripe Cabernet essence that should provide a most seductive bouquet in time. Elegantly balanced middleweight with a firm, fine-grained tannin. A juicy core of very ripe blackcurrant Cabernet to taste, nicely sustained across the palate, gently minerally and with a long sweet finish. Finest Giscours for a long time (a little fatter and a little finer textured than the excellent Du Tertre from the same stable). 15.5v
