Andrew Jefford: Medium -gold. Elegant, ripe, vivid, appealing. Lots of warm ripe fruit; just a touch of what Mr Broadbent calls 'fish skin’, which is a kind of aromatic glycerousness as I understand it, rather than anything truly fishy! Overall, lacks aromatic focus, though. Full, broad, lots of weight of rounded, penetrating fruit. Robust and invigorating; deep and long. Vinous, warmly alcoholic finish. Very solid contender, without having the engraved arabesques one is looking for in the best. 15.5

Simon Larkin : Good green -gold appearance, moderate intensity. Ripe, exotic, vaguely floral limey fruit on the nose. The palate shows a pleasing sense of balance, lively yet ripe citrus, and green fruits, though the acidity is marked to the finish. An almost iodine-like note on the finish, seaweed - bizarre. A real tang of citric acidity, too. The mineral qualities linger, though the wine is somewhat disjointed in make-up. 13

Alexander Scott: Similar again to the Hipping and Orbel, but a notch of extra ripeness is apparent, covering the structure more than the Orbel. This is top class. 16.5
