Andrew Jefford: Pale gold. Vivid and warmly fruited, again with some of those extraordinary popcorn scents that this vintage seems to have produced. Lively, vivid, fresh, piercing, but there is a lack of fruit saturation behind that intense and assertive acidity. Not as bitter as some, but a lack of aromatic wealth in the aftertaste holds it back. 14
Simon Larkin : Slightly deeper than the Muller-Catoir Im Aspen. Very ripe on the nose, almost like baked apple. Gently floral, too. Good mouth -filling fruit - not overly ripe, certainly pithy; grapefruit and apple as well as lime. Distinguishing features? Hard to find - it falls into the pack for me. 12.5
Alexander Scott: A faint touch of reduction. Another big, rich wine in the same mould as the Muller-Catoir Haardter Burgergarten Im Aspen Spatlese. Perhaps just a shade more life in it, but I find the overall effect rather overwhelming. 14
