Simon Field: Young, purple colour. Attractive nose that marries cherries and mocha, slightly intense and uncompromising as of yet. A hint of undergrowth that may be interesting or sinister. On the palate, broad horizons of blackberry and cherry fruit, uninterrupted and profound. Dense, slightly leafy notes evoke a wine that is both eloquent and unfulfilled. 16.5
Andrew Jefford: Very dense, lots of black in with red. A good mesh of dense, pure, meaty, sweet-edged, fine-grained fruit - a great steamroll of dense, pure, fiery, almost volcanic fruit. Quite a sweet, toothsome style, but impressively completed by an invading wave of powerful, textured tannins. A swashbuckling, piratical Vintage Port, yet there is wonderful persistence and push behind. 18.5
Richard Mayson: Good deep colour. Rather a green, stalky nose. Dense, peppery and spicy, without being broad or rich in style. A classic style. Good. 15.5
