Simon Field: Elegant rich colour, with a delightful nose that is both serious and playful - slightly burnt, but there is toffee apple underneath to seduce. The blessed spirit dances with agility on the palate; the tannins keep order with patience and decorum. Great purity of message and real potential. 17.5
Andrew Jefford: Mid-level of evolution here: more red than black. Broad, warm aromas: a mellow sense of contentment evoked by evolving black fruits and a touch of rose petal among the dry tea-leaf fruits. Faintly raisiny. Mouth-filling, dense, sweet, rich, earthy, tannic - lots of power and perfume here. Excellent, masterful Vintage Port with an emphatically ripe full style, almost flirting with raisinyness but just holding off. 16
Richard Mayson: Deep opaque centre, thin purple rim. Sullen and withdrawn, with underlying depth and elegance. Tight, firm, spicy fruit. Good structure, with firm dusty tannins and good grip. Going places, but not as rich as some. Drink 2010-2030 plus. 17
