Tim Atkin : Some development, attractive brick/ claret colour. Mature, developed nose with some secondary characteristics of chocolate and game. A lovely harmonious wine with silky tannins, haunting fruit concentration and good length. Quite Bordeaux-like withatouch of leaf and mint on the finish. 18
Oz Clarke: Pretty good red, on the turn. It smells a bit lean and leafy. But the palate isn’t bad. It’s a bit leafy, in fact there’s a bit of really fresh undergrowth about it. But it's full and fairly ripe and dry. The basic idea is of a stern yet attractive wine. Pretty full black fruit, not come-hitherish but good and satisfying. Full, round, quite mature, without ever having quite achieved a blossoming of character, yet still showing no decay, so the moment of revelation may yet come. 16
Michael Schuster: Brick-edged black-red; persistent, scented, cedary nose; very elegantly balanced medium full wine with a fresh acidity and fine tannin; long, fine savoury flavour and a long aromatic finish. Complex, complete, harm onious and very good indeed. 17.5
