Tim Atkin : Deep colour for a nine-year old wine, some development at rim. Attractive, claret-like nose, with good secondary development and complexity. Good, silky tannins and concentration. A ripe, textured wine that finishes slightly bitter. 16
Oz Clarke: Good red, beginning to age. On the nose, still fresh and a little leafy. On the palate, the leafiness is turning to cedar. This is not 'ripe' but that's part of its character. It’s full, rich in black-plum fruit and sweet tomato and blackcurrant-leaf savouriness. That's a pretty good balance. It’s not what many modern critics would regard as 'classic' - but what do they know? This has a lovely leaf and rich dark-fruit style that would delight the old-timers in Bordeaux. 17
Michael Schuster: Youthful black-red; dense, cedary blackcurrant Cabernet with a minty cooler-climate character; medium-full wine with a firm, dry, tannic frame; deep, flavoury Cabernet wine - good-quality fruit pinched and dried by its oak tannin. 15
