BUY THE WINE

Nicolas Belfrage: Attractive bright color with little turn. Nose of berry and cherry, also toast, oak notes combined, a bit Porty. Concentrated and sweet with fine tannins and sufficient acidity, quite alcoholic but that suits the style, muscular but elegant wine which would be many people’s idea of what Brunello ought to be. Drink from 2014 for 10 years. 18

Roy Richards Closed, giving nothing away. The palate is a little dirty, stripped out. Cannot get enthusiastic here.

Franco Ziliani: Good typical Sangiovese. Ruby-garnet color. The nose is intense, mysterious, wild, not so expressive, but with luscious, slightly sweet fruit and some mineral, aromatic herb and leather notes. Well-balanced, round and lively on the palate, with soft tannins, length, good persistence and a salty, lively, savory finish. Interesting wine. 16.5
