Nicolas Belfrage: Remarkably deep, oaky nose. Coffee and dark chocolate prevail on palate rather than fruit, though that too is there (underneath) in some abundance. Made to a modern recipe, it may be what some are looking for in Brunello but lacks the crucial component: elegance. 13

Roy Richards First nose seems tainted, second even worse, slight TCA, but won’t get better. Second bottle has some bitter tannin. No good. 5

Franco Ziliani: Very inky concentrated, deep color, the nose is extractive, with some green unripe, aggressive notes and a hint of new oak in excess. Very dull and boring on the palate, with aggressive, bitter, dry oak tannins. Not appealing at all. A modern, stupid wine. 10.5
