Nicolas Belfrage: Bright appearance. Wood comes through on the nose. Plenty of fruit on the palate, but a smoky character is in the mix. Very fresh and enlivening acidity. Needs another couple of years to harmonize. 88

Bruno Besa: Garnet to tawny. Intense, wild, spicy, complex nose, with fresh herbs, bitter cherries, and an intense salty minerality. Balanced, restrained, and complex palate, with firm tannins and a long, beautifully clean finish. A classy Sangiovese. 94

Andrew Jefford: Clear, deep black-red. This is another wine with a little herbaceousness on the nose, mingled with smooth red fruits. Fresh, grassy, and light, though the vintage ensures that it is not ungenerous. There are tannins, too. Pleasant drinking for the short term. 83
