BUY THE WINE

Nicolas Belfrage: Deep color, not quite opaque but almost. Very velvety and plummy on the palate, it is a wine made with care if not quite typical of the genre. 91

Bruno Besa: Deep garnet to tawny. Open nose, cedar wood and leather, with prunes and morello cherries. A touch green on the palate, with firm tannins and moderate length. 89

Andrew Jefford: Deep, clear black-red. Dry, sweet: succulent prunes; a medicinal whiff. Deep, firm, closetextured, succulent, lush, tannin-clad—you almost have to prise this wine open like an oyster, but there’s lots within once you get there. It’s very rich and ample in style, with generous but softly extracted tannins: sumptuous and beefy new wave in style, but works well. 90
