Tim Atkin: Mid-garnet, with a little development at the rim. balsamic, savory, slightly reductive nose and palate, but the flavors are subtle, and there’s a haunting sweetness to the fruit that is almost Volnay-like. Spicy, with a hint of clove and pepper, medium tannins, and quite a light frame. Elegant, cooler-climate style. 17

Nicolas Belfrage: Quite deep, with a bit of turn on rim. a bit metallic on the nose. Quite a butch palate, though correct, with firm acid and tannins generally under control—maybe a bit drying? but could come together: pazienza. drink 2014+. 15.5

Bruno Besa: Deep garnet to tawny. Intense, deep, black-fruit character, with great complexity: prunes, cherries, cedar, smoke, and cinnamon. Full body, with sweet, mature red and black fruit; very balanced and a joy to drink. 17.5
