Nicolas Belfrage: Medium depth with garnet rim. Fine, typical, lanolin and cherry nose. Lots of sweet, luscious fruit on the palate. Creamy but muscular tannins, good integrated acidity, a hint of bitter on the finish, but lots of savory fruit to override. Drink from 2018. 17

Bruno Besa: Deep garnet to tawny rim. Touch closed, fairly complex black-fruit nose, with prunes, blackberries, and touches of oriental spices. Full body with youthful tannins; well balanced by the rich fruit. Not the most refined, but a generous wine. 16

Andrew Jefford: Deep black-red. Pure forest here: all cedar, warm pine, and dry, twiggy underbrush. A very lovely scent, delivered with milky grace. On the palate, this is a very ripe but concentrated and finely detailed wine; once the curranty fruits have faded, all those forest notes you can see on the nose return to flood with palate with their late summer warmth. You just don’t get much more refined than this; a real Fra Angelico Brunello, full of graceful restraint. Some might like a little more freshness, but not me. What it does, it does so well... 18
