John Livingstone-Learmonth: Garnet in the robe, though that is clear and bright. The pretty, understated bouquet carries soft, raisin tart and prune aromas with a sprinkle of pepper—quite wide and elegant, too. The palate is soft, as if chaptalized: has a floral start, and a curl of roundness, with a red stone fruit tinge to the taste. Drinking well now—as a pretty, aromatic, low-scale wine. The palate will become just a little dry around 2011, I suspect. Very good for its vintage, and has surpassed my early expectations about its longevity. 2016–17. ** (10.5–12)
