BUY THE WINE

Ella Lister: Opaque red-brown. This has an utterly classic Bordeaux nose, with fresh menthol, herbal, pinesap notes. Then animal carnality takes center stage, followed by iodine, fresh raspberry and strawberry, and finally cold tea. In the mouth, ripe yet fresh red fruits, as well as a developed balsamic character. The tannins are the most apparent of the entire tasting (and therefore in any commercialized Sassicaia to date); it’s the only vintage where they’re slightly astringent.
