Jasper Morris: Harvested October 6, 13.9% ABV, all destemmed, 100% new wood for 15 months. Full, rich, brighter red, a big difference compared to the Precious Mountain ’96. Vibrant, energetic, with some fractionally greener notes, superbly fresh, this is very exciting. Lively and still good for a few years yet, with excellent balance. Even after being open for several hours it offers a gorgeous sweetness of fruit and rose-petal aromatics without being in any way unsubtle. I can see why this has always enjoyed a special reputation.
