Jasper Morris: Harvested August 20–21, 13.2% ABV, all destemmed, 50% new wood for 12 months. Lovely clear pale red. A beautiful perfume, with roses and peonies, not unnecessarily heady. Still beautifully fresh on the palate, too, this is exciting wine with a lovely aftertaste, beyond the slight tannins of the finish. One might draw the faintest parallel with the rugged Burgundian ’88s.
